In a rapidly digitizing world, e-commerce giants are challenging brick-and-mortar stores, leading to vacant city spaces. To address this, a centralized shared retail system is vital, accessible both online and offline, benefiting established retailers and city centers. We repurpose shopping malls and department stores partly into high-density storage hubs to act as supply centers within a 3-kilometer radius where we improve income security for retailers and landlords. This human-centred system seamlessly integrates local and online commerce, offering 24/7 access to goods. It revitalizes the city, acts as a meeting point and a walk-in online store, reduces storage needs, returns, transport costs, emissions, and congestion, and fosters security of supply and innovative shopping experiences for residents.
